Welcome, thanks for tuning into the MUstaSH ROOM.

00:00:14

I just wanted to record this is just kind of an intro welcome episode just to kind of give you an idea of what the podcast is designed to do, what my goals are behind it, and what you should expect.

00:00:26

If you want to listen to any of the upcoming episodes, which I hope you do, my name is David Ben.

00:00:31

And I want to be your host for all these epus.

00:00:33

So I called the MUstaSH ROOM because one of our sponsors is MUstaSH brands and they great product line, great company, MUstaSH, brands.com, so MUSTSH is kind of drive from MUstaSH brands but it also is kind of a word play if you look at MUstaSH ROOM together.

00:00:55

Looks like mushroom and the goal of this podcast is to really educate in Delvin.

00:01:01

To.

00:01:02

The world of amateur mycology and mushrooms.

00:01:06

Mycology is the study of mushrooms and fungus.

00:01:08

I am not a professional mycologist, but I've delved into just understanding just mycology and a just a recreational sense as well as a scientific sense.

00:01:20

I've never been too much of a scientific nerd.

00:01:23

Work with computers, so I guess computer science, but biology, chemistry or stuff like that is never really interested me, but dealing with mushrooms has been pretty awesome.

00:01:31

So what I want to do is I want to kind of bring people on as we graduate as we get more.

00:01:37

Get more momentum and bring people on to educate both the listening audience and myself on just like the in's and outs of mushroom cultivation, mushroom psychedelics mushroom in the culinary sense, medicinal use. There's so many different facets of the world of fungus and mushrooms specifically. That's really interesting, really.

00:01:58

Fascinating as far as I'm concerned, so I want to take you through kind of my journeys.

00:02:02

What I've done to date in my experimentation and kind of what I've learned people that may be interested in doing their own cultivation of whether they be standard or psychedelic.

00:02:13

Mushrooms, I can guide you through the process an I have some buddies that have done the same thing and slightly different capacities, but.

00:02:21

Have gone through the growing pains and kinda help you steer clear of those pitfalls and just understand some of the the reasoning behind the steps.

00:02:30

There are so many that go into really having a.

00:02:33

A worthwhile mushroom harvest, so that's kind of what's going to happen on this podcast.

00:02:38

Again, it's the MUstaSH ROOM I want to bring you into my room.

00:02:40

I want to kind of educate you.

00:02:42

I want your mind to be open.

00:02:43

I want to really learn with you, and I want this to become a communal thing.

00:02:48

Where if there are things that I can't answer on the podcast, or maybe I didn't think of we can learn together and we can do research and.

00:02:55

Just kind of build the mycological community.

00:02:59

I love it.

00:03:00

There are people in the Denver area, which is where I'm located that already do this kind of stuff and I'm learning from them and trying to build my network.

00:03:07

So come with me and let's learn together, which is fantastic right now in this weird climate, learning is one thing that's always available, right?

00:03:17

I mean specially with.

00:03:19

Being locked in the house most of the time, having the Internet on the ready learning is just the thing that's always there at your disposal to really help you grow.

00:03:28

So let me be part of that process.

00:03:31

I'm going to bring on people that have all different different facets of life.

00:03:37

Sometimes they won't be experts in know what we're talking about, but they can look at it from the perspective of the listener that maybe isn't familiar with the mushroom cultivation process or really doesn't understand the different types of mushrooms and.

00:03:51

At a forage mushrooms or things like that.

00:03:53

So I want to make sure that it's not purely a nerd.

00:03:56

Here's a bunch of information podcasts, but also one that MP.

00:04:00

Sizes with the audience that may not really be savvy with the jargon, or you know any of the things that we talk about, so I'll try not to fly over your head an again.

00:04:09

I'm always learning if I mess up.

00:04:11

If I get something wrong, let me know and we'll fix it and figure out where we can.

00:04:16

You know, be more objective going further.

00:04:20

So think about me, I am post 40.

00:04:25

I'm a.

00:04:26

Information technology professional has been doing.

00:04:29

I've been doing that my whole life.

00:04:31

You know, 20 plus years and I specialize in database management, architecture, design, development.

00:04:39

Really, that realm of of it.

00:04:42

I enjoy it, but one of my hobbies as of late has been mushrooms so.

00:04:48

I'm getting my tattoo on my back, reworked to incorporate more of a mushroom based.

00:04:52

Team, which I think is really cool and I have some some pictures of that going forward on the website to to show you I also politically if you're a Trump supporter, I don't care how interested you are in mushrooms, your opinion is not does not congruent with mine.

00:05:10

So if you want to be a silent listener and.

00:05:13

You know, keep that to yourself.

00:05:14

That's fine, but I'm not a big proponent of evangelical Trump supporters, so just know that in advance.

00:05:20

I'll try not to get political, but I won't steer clear of it because it's an important part of today.

00:05:25

Our culture who we are, so I'm not going to make that a theme, but I'm certainly not going to make it something taboo.

00:05:32

I will cuss from time to time, but I'm trying to have a baby, right?

00:05:35

So with that being said, I am going to limit the F word instances.

00:05:40

I will say from time to time, but.

00:05:42

Not all the time.

00:05:43

When I say **** I want it to be something that has meaning and people are like whoa he's.

00:05:48

Said the F word and normally doesn't say that, so right now it's just too frequent, not as much as I say like, which is another thing I'm trying to to system down on, but again, you may hear cuss words, but it's not the goal.

00:06:03

I am a big Cleveland sports fan.

00:06:06

Cleveland Browns, first and foremost, Indians, calves, LeBron wherever you go.

00:06:10

I'm a big fan so Cleveland mushrooms, big fan of standup comedy did stand up in Tampa where I used to live for.

00:06:17

Bout six years made some great friends.

00:06:19

Had some fun.

00:06:20

Haven't really gotten on stage in a while, but it's there if I want to revisit it.

00:06:24

And I think it's an awesome part of just kind of making me a little bit more interesting of a person.

00:06:30

Struggle from crippling anxiety, but recently found the wonder drug Lexapro and I will tell you stories if you want to hear them of how that has changed my life.

00:06:39

So kudos to Lexie.

00:06:41

She's a Pro is a terrible joke.

00:06:44

I promise it will get better.

00:06:46

And other than that, I'm in Denver.

00:06:49

I love Denver, an Ohio will still be where I Rep and where I'm originally from, but it's great out here.

00:06:56

Man, the mountains and all that stuff.

00:06:58

It really meshes well with my journey and all this fun mushroom stuff.

00:07:04

So this is not a full blown episode.

00:07:06

Again, this is hey, how's it going?

00:07:08

Maybe you want to check this out.

00:07:09

Here's

00:07:10

Yeah, maybe less than 10 minutes.

00:07:12

Not going to bog down your day with ******** but I really think that this podcast is.

00:07:16

Would be awesome and the people that I've kind of presented the idea to.

00:07:19

They feel so as well, so you know, bring on really interesting people.

00:07:20

Yes.

00:07:24

You'll learn with me.

00:07:25

It's a cool process if you want to head down that Rd with me, it will be available, so we'll try to do these as frequently as we can in Denver.

00:07:32

It's getting cold.

00:07:33

And with Covid there's nothing else to do so.

00:07:36

Expect a lot of these and hopefully they will be entertaining.

00:07:39

Alright, I love you all in advance.

00:07:41

Hopefully there's plenty of you listening to this, but if not, whoever you are, tell your friends this has been the intro welcome episode of the MUstaSH ROOM.

00:07:50

Well, they work for me baby.
