Step Into The MUstaSH ROOM (Podcast)
“Reset”. That’s the logical first step in troubleshooting electronics, right? Just unplug it, sit idle for a period of time, plug it back in, and wait for the magic to happen. By “magic”, I mean discard all non-essential memory and start again with fresh perspective. Unfortunately the process of “resetting” is far less trivial when the struggling subject is human. How does one truly unplug when tethered to so many outlets, each with their own unique series of voltage requirements? A daily cocktail of semi-restful sleep, avocado toast and Xanax may work for the short term, but offer few lasting benefits. For sustained relief, there has to be introspection, whether by conventional means (i.e. therapist, self-help books, SSRIs, etc.) , or non-conventional means (i.e. meditation and psychadelics). I’ve tried and appreciate both, however I’ve come to put more stock in the latter. The positivity and perspective gained using meditation and entheogens has been exponentially greater than any other form of treatment I’ve tried. Listening to my therapist customize an emotional remediation plan while I clutch a box of Kleenex has always been my dystopia. I’d pseudo-commit to being open and honest, but my ego would inevitably censor any idea that could incite vulnerability. After a few sessions, I’d resort to the comfort of self-pity and justify quitting. Conversely, sustained, yet strategic use of psilocybin, coupled with regular transcendental (mantra-based) meditation have forced me to deal with deeply-rooted issues, regardless of my consent. Imagine hearing closing arguments from your objective inner-self, just to open your eyes with a clearer outlook. Taking a “heroic dose” of Psilocybin with proper set and setting is like being sent to your room without a phone to think about what you’ve done. Almost like an induced labor for feedback loops and trauma. Obviously there’s more to it than “take 5 grams of fungi and call me in the morning”, but its definitely not rocket science. I started this podcast, because we should all be able to benefit from one of nature’s greatest gifts, but unfortunately not all legislators agree. The podcast is based out of Denver, CO, where psilocybin is “decriminalized”, but still illegal to sell or distribute. The rest of the country is unfortunately even more restrictive. With that in mind, my goal is to educate the listening audience on every facet of both mushroom cultivation and their strategic consumption. From purchasing spores (legal in most states) to to harvesting multiple flushes of beautifully potent fungi, learn the process, soup-to-nuts. When possible, we’ll conduct integration sessions, with subjects explaining their mystical experiences and ensuing observations. We also delve into mushrooms with medicinal and culinary applications in regular segments from the uber-smart and charming Jill (wife). Welcome to the MUstaSH ROOM!
